Briefly: Motley Crue, Rascal Flatts, Avril Lavigne, Glenn Tipton

Motley Crue received a star on the fabled Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony held Wednesday (1/25).

The entire band--Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee--was on hand for the unveiling of the Walk's 2,301st star.

Country trio Rascal Flatts will guest star (as themselves) on the Feb. 1 episode of the CBS-TV sitcom "Yes, Dear."

Avril Lavigne will perform during the Volvo for Life Awards ceremony, set for April 12 at New York City's Rainbow Room.

The event is billed as "the nation's largest celebration of local heroes," and is the culmination of a nationwide search for "everyday heroes."

Individuals can nominate "heroes" they know at the event's website. Celebrity judges--including Caroline Kennedy, Hank Aaron and Bill Bradley--will select the winning heroes and present them with charitable contributions at the gala event.

Two releases are due from Judas Priest co-lead guitarist Glenn Tipton on March 7. Rhino Records will issue a new version of Tipton's 1997 album, "Baptizm of Fire," containing two bonus tracks. He was joined on that album by the late Who bassist John Entwistle and the late drummer Cozy Powell (Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Whitesnake).

In addition, Rhino will issue the previously unreleased Tipton, Entwistle and Powell album "Edge of the World," which consists of additional recordings that were cut during the "Baptizm of Fire" sessions.
