New Releases, Jan. 31: Train, Barry Manilow, Andrea Bocelli

Plus: Warren Zevon , The Doors , more.

Train
"For Me It's You"
(Sony)

Train rolls back into action with its first studio outing since 2003's highly successful "My Private Nation," which produced the mega-hit "Calling All Angels." The San Francisco-reared band has a media blitz scheduled to coincide with the album's release--it'll make appearances on the "Today Show" (1/30), the "Late Show with David Letterman" (2/3) and the "CBS Saturday Early Show" (2/4).

The first single, "Cab," shows that the band is still mining the same roots-friendly pop sound that made past songs like "Drops of Jupiter" radio hits. Train's previous release was the 2004's concert recording, "Alive at Last."

Barry Manilow
"The Greatest Hits of the Fifties"
(Arista)

Barry Manilow tries to jumpstart his career as a recording artist by covering such timeless tunes as "What a Difference a Day Makes," "Unchained Melody," "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" and "All I Have to Do is Dream."

Hitting the Great American Songbook certainly did the trick to resurrect Rod Stewart's career, and this like-minded theme could work for the 59-year-old Brooklyn native as well. Manilow is best known for such tunes as "I Write the Songs," "Mandy" and, of course, "Copacabana."

Andrea Bocelli
"Amore"
(Decca)

The 47-year-old Italian tenor, who has sold roughly 50 million records around the globe, tries something new with "Amore." Instead of singing works from the traditional classical repertoire, Bocelli waltzes through the 20th century and tries out various romantic pop standards.

Utilizing three different languages of love--French, Italian and Spanish--the singer interprets classics that were originally made famous by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Luis Miguel, Elvis Presley and Edith Piaf.

Warren Zevon
"Reconsider Me"
(Artemis)

Warren Zevon is best known in the music world for such big rockers as "Werewolves of London" and "Lawyers, Guns and Money." This set sheds light on another equally important side of the late singer-songwriter: his ability to pen a touching love song.

The album includes such tracks as "Accidentally, Like a Martyr," "Please Stay," "Searching for a Heart," "Tenderness on the Block" and the touching title track. It also features a bonus track of a previously unreleased live acoustic performance of "Don't Let Us Get Sick" that was recorded in 2000, just three years before Zevon's death.
