Cat Power calls off planned US tour

Cat Power 's entire US tour has been canceled due to undisclosed health reasons, according to her label, Matador Records.

Cat Power--a.k.a. Chan Marshall--was scheduled to kick off a trek later this month to support her new album, "The Greatest." She was to be backed by the Memphis Rhythm Band.

"Out of respect for Chan's privacy, we can't give more detailed information, but we hope and assume that you'll respect her privacy during this time as well," said a statement posted on Matador's Cat Power website website.

The statement added that information about ticket refunds will be "available imminently, and the tour will be rescheduled as soon as possible."

Marshall recorded "The Greatest" in Memphis this past spring with a group of veteran session musicians including members of the Hi Records house band and Steve Potts, onetime drummer for Booker T and the MGs.
