Thursday set to tour for 'Chaos' and a cure
Emo rockers Thursday , currently embedded in the recording studio and putting the finishing touches on their second major-label album, will head out for a US tour in March.
The New Jersey-based band has hooked up with the Shirts for a Cure organization, and will be designing limited edition band T-shirts for sale at upcoming shows, with all proceeds going to the Syrentha J. Savio Endowment, which provides financial assistance to women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Thursday will kick things off with a March 14 show in Dallas, the first of 11 US dates on the band's calendar. On the heels of its March shows, the group will also be participating in the Taste of Chaos tour, playing only the outing's Canadian dates.
The Taste of Chaos tour features a lineup including Deftones, Thrice, Atreyu and others, and will hit 46 North American cities over a two-month stretch this spring.
Support acts for Thursday's tour are scheduled to include Minus the Bear , The Number 12 Looks Like You and We're All Broken. A limited number of pre-sale tickets for the shows are available at Thursday's website.
Meanwhile, Thursday remains ensconced in New York's Tarbox Studios finishing its next album, which is slated for a May 2 release on Island Def Jam.
"In February we're going back up to Tarbox studios to complete the new record," the band wrote on its website blog. "We have a few songs to finish up and then its time to mix. We're really proud of the way this record is turning out."
The as-yet-untitled album will be Thursday's fifth studio album, and second for Island Def Jam, following 2003's "War All the Time."
