Nine Inch Nails lock in more tour details

February 10, 2006 04:42 PM
Nine Inch Nails , who launch their latest round of North American tour dates tonight (2/10), have tapped Moving Units and spoken-word artist Saul Williams to rotate through the opening slot, and have booked a stop in Las Vegas.

Moving Units will open for NIN from the tour's Feb. 10 kick-off through a Feb. 25 performance in Cincinnati. Williams then takes over from Feb. 27 through April 1.

That April 1 stop--which currently is the tour's final date--takes place in Las Vegas, and is the latest addition to NIN's tour itinerary. Tickets for the show hit the box office Saturday (2/11), according to NIN's website.

Led by band mastermind Trent Reznor, NIN has been on the road since the spring of last year in support of its May 2005 release, "With Teeth," which features the singles "Only," "Every Day Is Exactly the Same" and "Hand That Feeds." The latter track was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Hard Rock Performance category, the trophy for which went to System of a Down for its song "B.Y.O.B."

According to a one-sentence message that Reznor posted at NIN's website
about an hour into this week's 48th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, he was happy to have no part in the proceedings.

"The Grammys make me hate music, and certainly everyone in the ass-licking music industry," he wrote.

"With Teeth"--NIN's first new studio set since 1999's "The Fragile"--debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Los Angeles-based rockers Moving Units continue to back their 2003 debut, "Dangerous Dreams." The band plans to begin recording a follow-up this spring, and hopes to have the disc in stores by the fall, according to its website.

Williams just released his third book, "The Dead Emcee Scrolls: The Lost Teachings of Hip-Hop." His latest album is a self-titled set that surfaced in 2004.
