Hill, McGraw post strong ticket sales, add more shows
Tickets for the first batch of shows on Faith Hill and Tim McGraw 's upcoming "Soul2Soul II" tour hit the box office this past weekend, and sales proved strong enough for organizers to roll out additional performances in some markets while confirming new stops in others.
The tour's previously announced stops in Columbus, OH; and Boston have now been expanded to two nights in each city, and new shows are confirmed in Pittsburgh; University Park, PA; and Dallas. Tickets for the additional Columbus and Boston dates are on sale now, as are those for the new date in Dallas. Those for the Pittsburgh and University Park shows, meanwhile, will go on sale this weekend. Details are included in the itinerary shown below.
Members of Hill's and McGraw's respective fan clubs have access to tickets before the general public. More information is available at www.faithhill.com and www.timmcgraw.com.
In all, stops are now confirmed in 11 of the more than 30 cities that McGraw and Hill are expected to hit during the outing.
"Along with some never before seen musical performances and what insiders are calling one of the most unique set designs ever made, the latest in visual technology and lighting design, 'Soul2Soul II' tour will include many of Tim and Faith's biggest hits and duets," organizers said in a press release announcing the tour, which is being presented by The Hershey Company.
The outing is a reprise of the pair's 2000 "Soul2Soul" co-headlining run.
Hill is backing her 2005 release "Fireflies," which last August entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1. The 14-track set spawned the hit single "Mississippi Girl," as well as "Like We Never Loved at All," a duet with McGraw. The latter cut earned the husband/wife team a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals at last week's Grammy ceremony.
McGraw, a mainstay on the tour circuit who is also one of the concert industry's top draws, released his latest album, "Live Like You Were Dying," in 2004.
