More shows on tap for Kenny Chesney
Country hit-maker Kenny Chesney is rolling out additional dates for his tour in support of his latest album, "The Road & the Radio," a trek that's now scheduled to visit more than 20 cities.
Among the recent additions to Chesney's itinerary are stops in Grand Rapids, MI, and Oakland, CA. In addition, Chesney is now scheduled to play multiple nights in several previously announced cities. Details are in the itinerary below.
Chesney hits the road in late March with show-openers Sugarland and Dierks Bentley in tow, and dates are currently scheduled through mid-June.
Released in November, "The Road & The Radio" is the second of two albums that Chesney offered up last year; the first, "Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair," surfaced last January. Both discs debuted atop The Billboard 200 album chart.
"To make this record, [I] really had to dig deeper than I knew I could and stay in the moment because there were times we were working on faith, when I wasn’t sure it was gonna come together," Chesney, in a press release, said of making "The Road & The Radio." "It's sometimes harder when you know what you want 'cause you can tell when you're not getting there, but it also gives you something to steer by."
According to concert industry magazine Pollstar, Chesney was the most successful country touring act of 2005, grossing $61.8 million over 71 shows.
Bentley is backing his sophomore set, last year's "Modern Day Drifter." The set debuted at No. 1 on the country albums chart last May, and at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
Sugarland--singer/songwriters Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Hall and Kristian Bush--continues to support its debut set, 2004's "Twice the Speed of Life."
