Trapt sets headlining shows, Nickelback dates
Rockers Trapt have sandwiched their next round of opening performances for Nickelback with a series of their own headlining dates.
Trapt hits the stage Mississippi and Louisiana this Thursday (2/23) and Friday (2/24), respectively, and will squeeze in a few additional shows in Texas, plus a one-off stop in Arkansas, before re-teaming with Nickelback in Arizona on March 3.
The band will then spend the rest of March opening for the Canadian headliners before tackling a series of its own April shows. Details are included below.
Trapt 's first round of opening dates for Nickelback kicked off in mid-January and wrapped up earlier this month. Frontman Chris Brown, in a recent posting on Trapt's website, said he and his bandmates are enjoying their time with Nickelback, but also are looking forward to playing some shows of their own.
"The new tour has been amazing so far," Brown wrote. "The crowd reactions have been astonishing. I forgot what it feels like to play for so many people. All in all, it's just so great to be able to see your faces once again."
Brown went on to say that, during its upcoming headlining shows, the group will be using some setlist ideas that fans have submitted at the group's MySpace site.
"Right now we are only playing like nine songs a night, because we are supporting Nickelback, but as soon as we get back to playing the clubs again we'll be trying out some of the setlist ideas you all have been coming up with," he wrote.
Trapt continues to back last year's "Someone in Control." The album, which follows the group's 2002 self-titled debut, features the new single "Waiting." The cut is streaming at the band's website.
