Atmosphere maps out second tour supporting 'Fun'

Indie hip-hop outfit Atmosphere will launch a national tour in March in support of the group's 2005 release, "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having."

The group, which consists of vocalist Slug (real name Sean Daley) and production wiz Ant (Anthony Davis), will kick off its outing March 14 in the rap music hotbed of Sioux Falls, SD.

Initially, the tour will feature support from Hispanic rappers Los Nativos, whose debut album, "Dia de Los Muertos," was released in 2003. Albino rapper Brother Ali will join the caravan as it takes a mid-tour detour to Australia, and remain with the outing when it swings back to the US in late April. All three acts will also appear at the March 17 showcase for their shared label, Rhymesayers, as part of the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX.

The group's complete Australian itinerary can be found at Rhymesayers' website.

Atmosphere's "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" marks the group's fifth studio album, and follows 2003's "Seven's Travels."

This is Atmosphere's second tour in support of its new album. A two-month slate last summer resulted in the group selling out 49 of its 52 appearances, according to its label.
