Yellowcard deals Virgin College Mega tour itinerary
Dates have surfaced for this year's Virgin College Mega Tour, which will feature Yellowcard in the headlining slot and support from fellow alt-rockers Mae .
The trek gets underway on the East Coast in early April and is currently scheduled to touch down at college campuses through early May. Details are shown below.
In addition to performances from Yellowcard and Mae, the tour will feature a daytime "village" that will include an "Emerging Artist" stage, karaoke booth, games, prizes and demonstrations of electronic gadgets. More information is available at the tour's official website.
Currently on tour in Europe, Yellowcard is backing its second major-label album, "Lights and Sounds," which hit stores last month. The new disc follows 2003's "Ocean Avenue," which helped the group earn the MTV2 Award at the 2004 Video Music Awards.
Details about the group's European tour are posted at its MySpace.com website.
Earlier this month, Yellowcard had to scrap concerts in San Francisco and Las Vegas while frontman Ryan Key was recovering from an "acute sinus infection and vocal chord nodules," according to a message posted at the band's website, which goes on to say that the group hopes to make up the canceled shows in May and June.
Recorded last spring and summer, "Lights and Sounds" is Yellowcard's fourth studio album, and second for Capitol Records.
Mae's sophomore effort, "The Everglow," hit stores last March.
