Briefly: Tim McGraw, Master P, Silkk the Shocker, Pete Doherty
Country singer Tim McGraw , during a Tuesday morning (2/28) appearance on a Nashville radio station, debuted two new tracks that will appear on his forthcoming best-of set, "Tim McGraw Reflected: Hits Vol 2."
McGraw unveiled the songs--"When the Stars Go Blue" and "I've Got Friends That Do"--while promoting his Soul2Soul co-headlining tour with wife Faith Hill on disc-jockey Gerry House's show on Nashville's WSIX radio.
According to a press release, "I've Got Friends That Do" is the first song McGraw has recorded that he's co-written. He penned the track with Brett Warren, Brad Warren and Brett Beavers. "When the Stars Go Blue" was written by Ryan Adams.
The new best-of set is scheduled to hit stores March 28.
Rapper Master P , whose real name is Percy Miller, and his brother Vyshonn Miller--a.k.a. rapper Silkk the Shocker --reportedly were ordered Monday (2/28) to stand trial on felony weapons charges.
According to published reports, each brother is charged with carrying an unregistered, loaded firearm. University of California at Los Angeles police claimed they found the weapons during a traffic stop.
The Millers are due to be arraigned on March 14, and are free on bail.
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty , 26, who earlier this month escaped serving a jail sentence for seven previous drug-related charges, was again arrested Monday (2/27), this time on suspicion of heroin and cocaine possession, as well as auto theft.
Doherty is scheduled to return to court on March 8. Part of the conditions of his previous release required Doherty to attend a drug rehabilitation program.
