Madonna [ tickets ] will warm up for her forthcoming headlining tour by performing a set at this year's Coachella [ tickets ] Valley Music & Arts Festival.

"I've never performed at a festival, and I'm especially excited about playing at Coachella before I start my own tour," the singer said in a statement.

Her performance will take place in the Sahara dance tent on the second day of the two-day event, which is set for April 29-30 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now. More information is posted at the official Coachella [ tickets ] website.

As previously reported, the festival will feature headlining performances from Depeche Mode and Tool, as well as sets from Franz Ferdinand, My Morning Jacket, Matisyahu, Sigur Ros, Digable Planets, Sleater-Kinney, Paul Oakenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Common and others. The currently confirmed roster is included below.

Madonna [ tickets ] is gearing up for a summer tour behind last year's platinum-certified "Confessions on a Dance Floor," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold about 1.3 copies in the US since its release last November. The disc features the cut "Sorry," which is streaming at Madonna's website. The song's music video recently hit No. 1 on MTV's "TRL."

Details about Madonna's summer roadtrip haven't surfaced yet.
