The Stills line up club tour ahead of sophomore album

Canadian indie-rockers The Stills are set to preview their sophomore effort, "Without Feathers," with a club tour that launches months before the album's May 9 release date.
The Montreal band will kick things off March 7 in Guelph, Ontario. About half of the band's 34 upcoming appearances are set for Canadian venues.
Fellow Canadian singer/songwriter Sam Roberts (whose third album, "Chemical City," hit stores April 11) will open for the band during its US East Coast leg, and yet another Canadian singer, Jason Collett, will offer support on the group's Cleveland and Detroit dates.
The Stills will also take time out to put in an appearance at the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX., with showcases scheduled for March 17 at Stubbs BBQ and the following night at La Zona Rosa.
"Without Feathers" is the band's follow-up to its 2003 debut, "Logic Will Break Your Heart," and represents a "return to simplicity," according to singer/guitarist Tim Fletcher.
"F--- the effects, plug in and feel something," Fletcher said of the new album's recording sessions in a press release.
A streaming download of the first single from the new album, "In the Beginning," is available at the band's MySpace page.
