Gov't Mule sets spring headlining dates
The band appears in the April 14-15 lineup at the Wanee Music Festival in Live Oak, FL, sharing the bill with The Allman Brothers Band, O.A.R. and others, then kicks off its own headlining tour with an April 18 show in Winston-Salem, NC. Gov't Mule frontman/guitarist Warren Haynes is also a member of the Allmans.
Gov't Mule has mentioned on its website plans for a second, summer leg of headlining shows, but only a June 10 appearance in Lawrence, KS, has been firmed up so far.
The group will also appear in support of The Dave Matthews Band on several mid-summer shows.
Gov't Mule continues to back last year's "Deja Voodoo," the first studio album on which guitarist/singer Warren Haynes and drummer Matt Abts are backed by keyboardist Danny Louis and bassist Andy Hess. The set is also Gov't Mule's first since its "Deep End" series, which featured guest appearances from a long list of bassists who filled in after founding bassist Allen Woody died in August of 2000.
In May of last year, Gov't Mule re-released "Deja Voodoo" bundled with a bonus EP that features newly recorded versions of "I'll be the One" and "Ballerina."
