Say Anything backs reissued debut set with tour

Alternative popsters Say Anything are set to hit the stage in Philadelphia tomorrow (3/9) as the band tours behind the recent re-release of its debut album, " ... Is a Real Boy."

After the Philly date, the Los Angeles-based trio will set out on a long trek covering mostly small clubs in more than 50 cities over the next three-and-a-half months. The outing includes March 15 and 18 appearances at the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX.

Pre-sale tickets are currently available for a limited number of shows. Check the band's website for full details.

The band's one and only in-print album, " ... Is a Real Boy," was originally released in 2004 on the Doghouse label. The album was reissued in late February by the band's new label, J Records, and includes a bonus disc titled " ... Was a Real Boy," containing a mix of new and previously unreleased songs.

Say Anything was formed several years ago in Los Angeles when singer/guitarist Max Bemis was still in high school. The band featured a revolving-door lineup its first few years in existence, although Bemis and drummer Coby Linder have been mainstays in the group.

"We have existed since Coby started playing drums over the horrible songs I wrote about girls while attending high school in Los Angeles, California," said Bemis in the band's online bio. "Being the egomaniacal singer type, I proceeded to kick out and/or drive away pretty much anyone else who joined the band, so there were a ton of lineup changes."
