Bob Dylan stacks up more spring tour dates

Folk-music icon Bob Dylan 's soon-to-launch spring tour now features a number of new stops, most of which will also feature Merle Haggard .

As previously reported, Dylan kicks off the run at the beginning of April, and dates now stretch into early May. The majority of dates are billed as Bob Dylan and His Band with Merle Haggard and The Strangers. Details are included in the itinerary below.

Though Dylan hasn't issued a new studio set since 2001's "Love and Theft," the singer/songwriter has kept fans satisfied with a number of projects, the most recent of which is last year's seventh edition of Columbia's Bob Dylan "Bootleg Series." Dubbed "No Direction Home: The Soundtrack," the album was the audio companion to filmmaker Martin Scorsese's documentary about the folk-rock legend, which aired last September on PBS. The program was released on DVD that same month.

"No Direction Home" is the first feature-length biography ever produced on Dylan, who serves as the films narrator.

"No Direction Home: The Soundtrack" is a two-disc, chronologically sequenced collection that features 28 Dylan tracks, all of which were recorded between 1959 and 1966, and 26 of which were previously unreleased.

Rolling Stone recently reported that Dylan is expected to issue a new album later this year, but no official announcement has been made

Haggard's latest album, "Chicago Wind," is a collection of originals that features a mix of ballads--like "Leavin's Not the Only Way to Go" and "What I've Been Meaning to Say"--and politically charged tracks, such as "Rebuild America First" and "Where's All the Freedom."
