Trace Adkins joins Gretchen Wilson's 'Revolution'
Currently in the midst of the first leg of her "Redneck Revolution" tour, Gretchen Wilson has announced that fellow country star Trace Adkins will join her during the outing's second leg.
So far, Wilson and Adkins are scheduled to join forces in May for 10 concerts that are sandwiched between Wilson's current trek and a number of her summer festival and fair appearances. Details are included below.
Newcomer Blaine Larsen , who is currently opening for Wilson, will remain on board for her co-headlining shows with Adkins, according to a press release.
The roadwork supports Wilson's sophomore effort, "All Jacked Up," which hit stores in late September. The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, as well as on Billboard's Country Album chart, thanks to first-week sales of about 264,000 copies.
Wilson produced "All Jacked Up" with John Rich--of country duo Big & Rich, with whom Wilson recently toured, and is scheduled to share the stage with during a March 30 stop in East Lansing, MI--and Sony Nashville exec Mark Wright. The disc features 12 songs, seven of which Wilson either wrote or co-wrote.
Wilson's 2004 debut, "Here for the Party," has sold more than 4 million copies, according to her website.
Earlier this year, Wilson was crowned Female Vocalist of the Year during the 39th annual CMA Awards. That honor followed her 2004 win for the CMA Horizon Award, and makes her the first solo female artist to score both trophies during consecutive years, according to the Country Music Association.
Adkins continues to back his March 2005 release, "Songs About Me," which sold almost 63,000 copies during its first week in stores, and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart.
"Off to Join the World," Larsen's debut, surfaced in January of last year.
