Built to Spill postpones spring/summer trek
Built to Spill , which was scheduled to embark on a tour this spring to back the release of its April 11 release, "You in Reverse," has postponed the outing.
According to a press release, frontman Doug Martsch recently underwent emergency surgery for a detached retina, and must rest before embarking on a tour.
The tour has been rescheduled for June through October; details are in the itinerary below.
The five years since the release of Built to Spill's previous album, 2001's "Ancient Melodies of the Future," included an 18-month vacation from any kind of music-related work, according to a press release.
When the band members returned from their hiatus, they brought touring guitarist Jim Roth into the fold as a fourth member of the former trio and began working on songs for the new album.
The band self-produced the album in a conscious effort to create something "different," Martsch said in a press release. "Just to see what would happen. I've made enough records to know I could do this."
"You in Reverse" is Built to Spill's sixth studio album, and its fourth on the Warner label.
