Rascal Flatts map out another leg of 2006 tour
Contemporary country trio Rascal Flatts has revealed the second leg of its 2006 US tour in support of the band's new release, "Me and My Gang."
The Ohio-based group will begin the second part of its trek May 26 in Holmdel, NJ, the first of a long upcoming stretch the trio has mapped out for the rest of the year, with more than 40 cities on the itinerary through the middle of September.
Singer Gary Allan , whose most recent release, 2005's "Tough All Over," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country chart last October, will provide support on the upcoming leg.
"Me and My Gang," which hit stores in April, is the band's fourth studio album and the followup to its 2004 breakthrough, "Feels Like Today." That album, still sporting strong sales even after the release of the band's latest album, was recently certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, with sales exceeding four million copies.
"Feels Like Today" has remained in the Billboard country chart's Top 10 for more than 75 weeks, going back to its late 2004 release.
Rascal Flatts is nominated for several big Academy of Country Music awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Top Vocal Group. The 41st Annual ACM Awards will be broadcast live May 23 by CBS-TV from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
