Joe Jackson maps out June tour with old mates
The Joe Jackson Band is back on the road--sort of.
Jackson, who spent more than year touring with his original bandmates a few years back, releasing a new studio album, "Volume Four," and a live album in the process, vowed that was the last time he and his old band would perform together.
But the singer, who's sketched out a brief US tour for June, will once again share the stage with original Jackson band members Graham Maby and Dave Houghton during an outing that kicks off June 12 in Washington, DC.
The only missing member of the Joe Jackson Band that toured in 2003 is guitarist Gary Sanford. The group originally got back together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Look Sharp," Jackson's 1978 debut recording.
Jackson's June slate will carve a wide swath across the country, hitting major cities along the way. The singer's website lists pre-sale dates for the upcoming shows.
"Volume Four," released in 2003, is Jackson's most recent studio album, and represents the fruit born from the Joe Jackson Band reunion of the same time period. In a press release at the time, Jackson described the album as "high-energy, fun, and in the spirit of the first couple of albums, but more mature."
