Beauty-products company Elizabeth Arden, Inc., has signed an exclusive agreement with Mariah Carey that allows the pop star to develop and market her own line of fragrances.

The first fragrance is expected to be in stores by the spring of 2007, according to a press release.

New Orleans native Pete Fountain , 75, reportedly is resting at home after undergoing quadruple-bypass heart surgery.

According to an Associated Press report, Fountain has been ill since Mardi Gras, when his Half Fast Marching Club was forced to perform without him on Fat Tuesday for the first time in 46 years.

Fountain's agent told the AP that the jazz clarinetist hopes to perform at this year's New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on May 7.

Rapper 50 Cent and Nicholas Cage will co-star in the motion picture "The Dance," based on the life of prison boxing coach Billy "The Kid" Roth.

Cage will play Roth--who has volunteered as a boxing coach in Louisiana state prisons for more than 40 years--and 50 Cent will play an inmate.

No target release-date has been announced for the film, which will be based on the Cage-produced 2003 documentary "The Dance - The Billy Roth Story,"

Singer/songwriter Regina Spektor will release a new album dubbed "Begin to Hope" on June 13. Three tracks from the set--"Better," "Fidelity" and "Summer in the City"--will be available for sale via digital-music outlets beginning April 11.
