The hardcore metal-oriented Sounds of the Underground [ tickets ] tour will roll again in 2006 with a lineup that includes As I Lay Dying [ tickets ], In Flames [ tickets ], Trivium [ tickets ] and almost a dozen other acts.

The festival-like tour, which has been likened to Ozzfest by some, is currently set to kick off July 8 in Cleveland, according the initial list of dates released by the tour's organizers. The summer outing consists of 27 cities thus far, with organizers warning that all dates are subject to change.

Tickets for all shows will be available through pre-sale ordering starting April 11. Details can be found on the tour's official website.

Also appearing on the tour will be Cannibal Corpse [ tickets ], GWAR, Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder, Behemoth, The Chariot, and Through the Eyes of the Dead. GWAR and Terror are the only holdovers from last year's Sounds of the Underground tour, which was the first year for the event and featured Lamb of God and Clutch as headliners.

The tour will feature guest appearances along the way. Killswitch Engage will appear for the July 14 date in Mansfield, MA, and Evergreen Terrace will join most of the tour's remaining dates beginning with the July 19 stop in Orlando, FL.

For the tour's Phoenix and San Diego stops only, Shadows Fall, It Dies Today and Still Remains will join the festivities.

Jagermeister will sponsor the tour, which currently is set to conclude in mid-August.
