Dashboard Confessional set for short college tour

Emo favorites Dashboard Confessional have added new dates to their current tour, which kicks off Friday (4/7) and is primarily headed to college campuses.

The short, Northeast/Midwest-centered tour will feature a mix of colleges and arenas, with university stops in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Massachusetts along the way. Friday's appearance in Wilkes-Barre, PA, kicks off the outing.

Led by singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba, the quartet has not released a new studio album since 2003's "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar." The band initially broke through to a wide audience with the release of "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most" in 2001.

A post on Dashboard Confessional's website last May mentioned that the band was working in the studio on a new album to be produced by Daniel Lanois (U2, Peter Gabriel), but no further details of a possible upcoming release have leaked in the intervening months.
