Band of Horses to tour behind debut album

Indie-rockers Band of Horses have lined up an early summer tour in support of their freshly minted debut album, "Everything All the Time."

The Seattle-based duo of Ben Bridwell and Matt Brooke will tackle a pair of back-to-back dates in their hometown--starting Thursday (4/13)--before kicking off their tour May 27 with an appearance at the Sasquatch! music festival in George, WA.

The club tour will highlight major cities across the country, fitting three Chicago stops into the itinerary, including a July 29 slot at the Pitchfork Music Festival.

Bridwell and Brooke formed Band of Horses in 2004 out of the ashes of their previous band, Carissa's Weird, which released three independent label albums. Already well-known in Seattle indie circles, the duo signed with Sub Pop and toured extensively with Iron and Wine and Okkervil River last year before cutting their debut album.

The band was originally named Horses, but the pair discovered that another group was already using that name, so adopted the title of their own website as the band's new moniker.

The duo--who supplement their live performances with several additional musicians--released a self-titled EP last year before recording "Everything All the Time," which hit stores March 21.
