Briefly: Taking Back Sunday, Proof, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, CMA Festival
Rockers Taking Back Sunday have announced plans to back their forthcoming album, "Louder Now," with a multi-act summer tour.
The run, which will also feature Angels & Airwaves and Head Automatica, is scheduled to launch June 22 in Jackson, NJ, and is expected to make stops in 28 cities throughout the US, according to a press release. The itinerary has not yet been revealed.
"Louder Now" is due in stores on April 25. Taking Back Sunday is ushering in the set with an in-progress spring tour.
The man whom Detroit rapper Proof allegedly shot before being gunned down himself died on Tuesday morning (4/18), according to the Detroit Free Press.
Keith Bender Jr., 35, had been in critical condition since he was shot during an incident last Tuesday (4/11) at a Detroit nightclub. Witnesses and police have reportedly claimed that Proof--real name Deshaun Holton--shot Bender following a fight. Bender's cousin, Mario Etheridge--a bouncer at the club--reportedly then shot and killed Holton.
Etheridge has since pleaded not guilty to two firearm-related felonies, but has not been charged with Holton's death.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will mark the April 21 kick-off of their "Soul2Soul II" co-headlining tour with a taped appearance on CNN's "Larry King" show. The husband-and-wife duo will record the show April 20 from their concert stage in Columbus, OH, just prior to their final dress rehearsal, according to a press release.
Hank Williams Jr. , Brooks & Dunn and Lynyrd Skynyrd will co-headline a June 8 concert at The Coliseum in Nashville, according to the Country Music Association. The show will also feature special guests Gary Allan, Sara Evans, Pat Green, Little Big Town and Blake Shelton. Tickets will hit the box office Saturday (4/22).
The event is part of the annual CMA Music Festival. More information is available at the festival's website.
