Korn, Deftones head up Family Values Tour

Family Values Tour founders Korn , who headlined the outing's inaugural run back in 1998, will resurrect the traveling rock festival this summer with some help from Deftones , Stone Sour , Flyleaf and Dir en Gray.

"When Family Values first started it felt like music was fresh and exciting," Korn frontman Jonathan Davis said in a statement. "We want to recreate that same feeling for our fans, and offer them a full day of fun and some great music."

Set to launch July 27 in Virginia Beach, VA, the outing is scheduled to touch down in 30 cities throughout North America. The initial list of cities is included below; venues and dates have not yet been announced.

For the first time in the Family Values Tour's history, the outing will feature a second stage, the lineup for which has not yet been confirmed.

Earlier this year, Korn announced that it had struck a precedent-setting deal with EMI Music and concert promoter Live Nation, through which the three parties are partners in all of the band's revenue-generating endeavors. That dynamic will allow the band to price lawn tickets for the upcoming tour at $9.99, according to a press release.

"Let's face it, ticket prices suck," Davis said. "Kids shouldn't be shut out of concerts. We wanted to see if we could do something about it, and our new deal gives us the chance to give something back."

Korn continues to back last year's "See You on the Other Side." Released in December, the album--which is the group's first under its agreement with EMI--has sold about 1.7 million copies to date, according to the band's publicist. The disc features the hit singles "Twisted Transistor" and "Coming Undone."

Deftones haven't released a collection of all-new material since their self-titled 2003 set. A new disc is expected to surface later this year.

Stone Sour , which features Slipknot singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, issued its self-titled debut in 2002. The band is currently working on a follow-up.

Flyleaf dropped its self-titled debut last year, which features the group's breakthrough single, "I'm So Sick."

The upcoming Family Values Tour will mark the outing's return after a five-year hiatus. The trek was an annual event from 1998 through 2001.
