Bruce Springsteen
"We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions"
(Sony)

The Boss reconnects with his folk side in a major way with this batch of traditional tunes. As the album title suggests, these songs are all closely associated with the legendary folkie Pete Seeger. The set includes such numbers as "John Henry," "Erie Canal," "Jacob's Ladder" and "My Oklahoma Home."

"We Shall Overcome" is being released in the DualDisc format. One side of the disc features the complete 15-track album, while the other is a DVD that includes behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions.

Godsmack
"IV"
(Republic)

Having traveled the acoustic road with 2004's atypical "The Other Side," Godsmack plugs back in and cranks up the electric guitar with "IV." That's good news for headbangers and other fans who believe this Boston-based act is one of the finest metal outfits in the country.

The band is already on the publicity trail in support of this new album. Godsmack will make high-profile appearances on such TV shows as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (4/26) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (4/28).

Goo Goo Dolls
"Let Love In"
(Warner Bros.)

The platinum-selling pop trio returns with its first studio outing since 2002's "Gutterflower."

Intriguingly, "Let Love In," the band's eighth album, was recorded in a 100-year-old Masonic Ballroom in the Dolls' hometown of Buffalo, NY. More significantly, however, is the fact that Glen Ballard produced the CD.

The Goo Goo Dolls—guitarist/vocalist John Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac and drummer Mike Malinin--are best known for 1998's blockbuster CD "Dizzy Up the Girl" and the pop ballads "Iris" and "Name."

Taking Back Sunday
"Louder Now"
(Warner Bros.)

Taking Back Sunday returns with its eagerly awaited follow-up to 2004's "Where You Want to Be." The first single and video from the new album is "MakeDamnSure," which is already receiving spins on radio and being aired on music television programs.

"Where You Want to Be" made its debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, thanks to first-week sales of roughly 163,000 copies. Both that album and the band's first record, "Tell All Your Friends," have been certified gold.

Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris
"All the Roadrunning"
(Warner Bros.)

These two Grammy-winning musicians worked on this set for years, meeting up in Nashville whenever their schedules would permit to record a duet or two. The result is this highly anticipated collection of original tunes that reportedly draw from such genres as country and Irish music.

If "All the Roadrunning" is anything less than a classic, fans will be disappointed. Harris and Knopfler have set co-headlining dates in Europe to support the album and will hopefully extend the tour to cover North America.

Rihanna
"A Girl Like Me"
(Def Jam)

The dance-pop diva made a splash back in 2005 with the delightful summer-jam "Pon de Replay." The Barbados native now hopes to reach even greater heights with the follow-up to last year's "Music of the Sun."
