Briefly: Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Bruce Springsteen, Goo Goo Dolls
"No one associated with Mick Jagger, other members of the Rolling Stones, the tour director, or those responsible for travel arrangements for the tour were ever contacted by the Imperial Hotel, President Bush or anyone on his behalf requesting them to change their reservation," the statement said.
The Dave Matthews Band has announced that it has issued a $1.5 million grant to build the New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village, a Habitat for Humanity project that seeks to construct more than 300 homes in the city's Upper Ninth Ward with musicians and other New Orleanians who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
The source of funding for the grant came from a 2005 benefit concert by Dave Matthews Band at the Denver area's Red Rocks Amphitheater.
"We want to thank the Denver community for making this grant possible," the band said in a press release. "Many people donated their time and resources to keep costs to a minimum so we could maximize the donation.
The Las Vegas Sun reported Friday (4/22) that guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen 's E Street Band, during a phone interview last week on Las Vegas radio station KKLZ-FM, said Springsteen and The E Street Band plan to tour again in 2007.
The Goo Goo Dolls are scheduled to make a Thursday evening (4/26) appearance at the Virgin Megastore at New York's Times Square to perform and sign autographs.
The group released its eighth album, "Let Love In," today (4/25).
