Rapper Snoop Dogg [ tickets ] has been released from police custody after a disturbance inside a lounge at London's Heathrow Airport, according to BBC News and other British press agency reports.

The BBC reports Snoop's lawyer as saying the performer was held overnight in police custody, then released early this morning (4/27) on bail without being charged. He added that Snoop had already flown on to South Africa to continue his concert itinerary.

According to police, the rapper and five others were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following a fracas involving as many as 30 people in a Heathrow business lounge Tuesday night (4/26).

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said the incident began when members of the rapper's entourage were turned away from the facility. Police who were called to deal with the disturbance informed Snoop and his entourage that they would not be allowed to board their flights as scheduled, and directed them to to pick up their baggage in another area of the airport.

"A number of the group became abusive and pushed officers," according to the spokesperson, who added that seven police offers were left with minor injuries following the scuffle.

Six men, including Snoop, were arrested at that point and taken into custody at two West London stations, the spokesperson said.

The BBC is reporting that British Airways has banned all six men from traveling on that airline "for the foreseeable future."

Snoop Dogg, whose new album, "Cali Iz Active." is due to hit stores June 27, was on his way to South Africa to take part in Johannesburg's Freedom Day celebrations.
