Anger Management tour bus crashes in Missouri
A tour bus carrying people associated with Eminem and 50 Cent 's Anger Management Tour was involved in a traffic accident east of Kansas City on Wednesday evening (7/13) that sent a dozen people to area hospitals.
MTV.com reported that Eminem's DJ The Alchemist and Atlanta rapper Stat Quo were among the injured. Stat Quo (Stanley Benton) reportedly suffered broken ribs, and has been released from the hospital. The Alchemist--whose real name is Alan Maman--suffered a collapsed lung, among other injuries, and remained hospitalized in stable condition Thursday morning.
Eminem and 50 Cent reportedly were not aboard the bus.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the bus was traveling from Chicago to Denver. The driver apparently lost control near Odessa, MO, when the bus swerved off the road and back onto the highway, where it hit a tractor-trailer. After then hitting another semi, the bus overturned, authorities said.
Though none of the resulting injuries were thought to be life-threatening, some victims were flown to area hospitals.
Truck driver Breck Wyngarden, who was involved in the accident, told Kansas City television station KCTV that the bus was "on three wheels, zig-zagging all over the place" before it clipped the right side of his semi.
"I was doing 70," Wyngarden said. "I bet that bus was going 85 to 90."
Despite the accident, the Anger Management Tour--which also features G-Unit and Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz, among others--will resume as scheduled Thursday night at Denver's Pepsi Center.
