Arcade Fire to preach 'Bible' on spring tour
Montreal indie rockers The Arcade Fire , who recently announced a March 6 release date for their second studio album, "Neon Bible," have revealed dates for a North American spring tour.
The band, which currently is preparing to launch a five-night stand beginning tonight (2/13) in New York City (following similar recent runs in London and Montreal), will kick off its spring tour April 26 in San Diego.
The group will follow the San Diego show with an April 28 set at the second day of the three-day Coachella Valley Music Festival in Indio, CA. Jumping back into headlining dates, the band will move onto shows in the South and Northeast before ending up back on the West Coast during the early days of June. Details are included below.
The band has also announced plans for a March European tour. The band's full overseas itinerary can be found at its website.
"Neon Bible," set to hit stores March 6, is the follow-up to The Arcade Fire's critically acclaimed 2004 debut, "Funeral."
The group is self-producing the forthcoming effort, according to nominal frontman Win Butler, in a recent posting on the band's website.
"After trying to decide if we should work with any producers we kind of realized that we already know how we want things to sound so we should just run after that sound as fast as [we] can and not rely on someone else to guide the good ship Arcade Fire," he wrote.
Butler also mentioned in the posting that the group is working on the set with engineers Scott Colburn and Marcus Dravs.
