Backstreet Boys To Tape Concert Special As New Single, Album Prepare For Release
The Backstreet Boys have established release dates for both their next single and next album and have booked an intimate New York show to tape an upcoming Disney Channel special. According to a press release issued Sunday (4/4), a video for the single, I Want It That Way, was recently shot in Los Angeles and will follow the April 12th worldwide release of the track.
The new album, MIllenium, will hit stores on May 18th. The new collection will inevitably be watched closely to see if it packs the same retail power as their self-titled debut album, which has already moved over 28 million copies worldwide and continues to hold a top 30 slot on the US pop album charts more than a year and a half after its release.
The group's concert special, titled Backstreet Boys In Concert, will be taped May 11th at the 1,800-seat New Amsterdam Theatre in New York. The special is set to debut on the Disney Channel June 10th.
Plans are being hammered out for a worldwide tour to support the album.
