Bauhaus takes another bow
Bauhaus forged a major cult following in the late '70s and early '80s with a sound and look that would come to be known as theatrical goth. Though the British band first broke up in 1983, its ability to draw fans never died.
Earlier this year, seven years after the group last got together for a tour, original Bauhaus members Peter Murphy, David J, Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins reunited to play the Coachella festival in California. Now the band is planning a major tour, and possibly a new album.
The tour kicks off Oct. 16 in Mexico City, stops in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Oct. 20 and lands in the States on Oct. 21.
Bauhaus' flair for the dramatic will grace stages across North America throughout November, with multiple-night bookings in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.
Following the band's 1983 break-up, lead singer Murphy launched a successful solo career, which continued to fuel interest in Bauhaus. Guitarist Daniel Ash, bass player David J and drummer Kevin Haskins formed Love and Rockets, which also became a successful recording and touring act.
After 15 years apart, Bauhaus reunited in for a tour in 1998, after which its members returned to their other projects. If the talk of a new Bauhaus album comes to fruition, it would be the group's first studio set since "Burning from the Inside" was released in 1983.
