Black Eyed Peas plan return to North America
Mere days after returning from a jet-setting tour of the Far East and Russia, The Black Eyed Peas will set off on yet another trek across the North America.
The pop/rap crossover foursome will rack up even more frequent flyer miles as they kick things off Aug. 14 in Honolulu. After the Hawaiian gig, the band will jump all the way back to the other side of the mainland, starting with an Aug. 24 show in Mansfield, MA.
The outing, currently scheduled to visit 11 cities, will include a couple of Canadian dates, as well as an Aug. 30 reunion with the Pussycat Dolls in Allentown, PA. The Dolls supported The Black Eyed Peas on the Honda Civic Tour this spring.
The Peas are currently preparing for an exotic mid-to-late July calendar that includes dates in Japan, China, Russia and India. The band's full overseas itinerary can be found at its official website.
The Black Eyed Peas continue to back their latest album, "Monkey Business," which landed in stores last summer and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set helped the group snag Grammy nominations in four categories: Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal ("Don't Lie"), Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals ("Gone Going"), Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group ("Don't Phunk with My Heart") and Best Rap Song ("Don't Phunk with My Heart").
A seven-song EP, "Renegotiations: The Remix," was released in March. The disc features remixes of Black Eyed Peas songs and includes guest performances from Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Cee-Lo and others.
