Reggae prodigy Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley [ tickets ] is ready to hit the road in support of his recently released "Welcome to Jamrock" album.

Marley--the youngest son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley--will open several dates for U2 on that band's current North American tour, as well as share a venue on the same night as rapper Kanye West, before Marley's own headlining shows get underway Nov. 11 in Anaheim, CA.

"Welcome to Jamrock," which hit stores Sept. 13, is Marley's third full-length album as a solo artist. The album was recorded with contributions from a number of guest artists, including rapper Nas and reggae artist Eek-a-Mouse, as well as Damian's older brother Stephen Marley.

"It’s like going to war. Sometimes you have to wear camouflage to really get in there," said Marley of the album in a press release. "Dancehall, R&B, hip-hop…It's more about feelings. We’re not just trying to do a segment of the mix. We're trying to do the whole mix."

Marley, who formed his first band, The Shepherds, at age 13, has been performing as a solo artist since 1994, when he began work on what would become his first solo album, 1996's "Mr. Marley," which was released on his late father's record label, Tuff Gong.

His second album, 2001's "Halfway Tree," earned Marley a Grammy award for Reggae Album of the Year.
