'First Lady' Faith Evans works the road
Faith Evans is gearing up for the launch of a headlining run on the club and theater circuit that supports her latest album, "The First Lady."
The tour kicks off later this month, and is booked into clubs and theaters. The itinerary stretches through the end of August, and includes stops at almost every House of Blues club in the country. She'll play the House of Blues clubs in Anaheim and West Hollywood, CA, two times each--once at the beginning of the tour, and again at the end.
Evans will have a chance to warm up for the outing with a performance at Saturday's (6/18) WAMO Summer Jam in Pittsburgh. Also scheduled to appear at the event are Common, Cassidy, Master P and Teairra Mari.
Released in April, "The First Lady"--which is Evans' inaugural set for Capitol Records--sold more than 157,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to secure a No. 2 debut on The Billboard 200 album chart.
Fueling sales of "The First Lady" is lead-off single "Again," which currently sits at No. 15 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. The song's music video is streaming at Evans's website.
