Jason Mraz [ tickets ], who recently finished his opening stint on Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill Acoustic Tour," sets out on a headlining tour next month in support of his recently released album, "Mr. A-Z."

The outing kicks off Sept. 12 in Mraz's hometown of San Diego, and dates so far stretch into late October. The itinerary includes a two-night stand at New York City's Lincoln Center.

Mraz also will open a pair of shows for the Dave Matthews Band during the group's Aug. 27-28 engagements in Carson, CA. Details appear in the itinerary below.

A rotating roster of support acts that includes Ryanhood, Dropping Daylight, Raul Midon, Missy Higgins, Carbon Leaf, Bushwalla and James Blunt will open for Mraz, according to Atlantic Records.

Released on July 26, "Mr. A-Z" debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart, thanks in part to its hit single, "Wordplay." Mraz will perform the song on the Aug. 19 episode of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," and is also scheduled to appear on the Aug. 25 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Mraz recorded "Mr. A-Z" at Allaire Studios near Woodstock, NY, as well as at his home studio in San Diego. Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones) produced the set.

"['Mr. A-Z'] took exactly a year to make, from the day the first word was scripted in January 2004 to mastering in January 2005, giving the whole affair a true four-season feel," Mraz said in a bio posted at his website.

"These 12 songs recognize the events of my last few years, in which I left the coffee houses where I was raised and was thrust into the theater and arena circuit with the success of 'Remedy' [from 2002's 'Waiting for My Rocket to Come']. I'm pretty sure this album will please audiences from both my caffeinated roots as well as those from my recently discovered Red Bull-and-beer-chugging jam band scene."
