Pete Yorn adds free shows to tour schedule

A full docket of summer tour dates apparently isn't enough to keep Pete Yorn [ tickets ] busy, so the singer/songwriter has added to his schedule free day-of-show in-store performances in practically every city on his itinerary.

A full docket of summer tour dates apparently isn't enough to keep Pete Yorn busy, so the singer/songwriter has added to his schedule free day-of-show in-store performances in practically every city on his itinerary.

Billed as "free afternoon mini-concerts," the shows--which will take place at local independent record stores along the tour route--were added "in response to venues selling out for his very first acoustic tour," according to a press release. Details about the in-stores are included in the itinerary below.

The set lists for Yorn's in-store performances will vary from location to location, and all of the shows will be recorded for a limited-edition souvenir CD series dubbed "Live From ..." that will be available exclusively at each respective store that hosted an event.

Last week, Yorn launched his in-progress acoustic outing, which runs through mid-August and precedes the Aug. 15 release of his forthcoming album, "Nightcrawler." Fans who pre-order the disc during the in-store shows will receive a limited-edition, six-song EP titled "Westerns."

Yorn is calling "Nightcrawler" is "the final installment in a musical trilogy" that began with his 2001 debut "musicforthemorningafter," and continued on 2003's "Day I Forgot," according to Columbia Records.
