Pretty Girls Make Graves follow new album with tour

Indie rockers Pretty Girls Make Graves have announced a spring tour in support of their upcoming album, "Elan Vital."

The Seattle-based band will play a few shows in February, including a free Feb. 16 concert at UC Berkeley, before hitting the road for an extended stretch after the new disc hits stores April 11. The group will kick off that leg with an April 26 show in Portland, OR, before taking the tour national.

"Elan Vital," the band's first full-length studio release since 2003's "The New Romance," was recorded last year with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Destroyer). The band tested out its new material last year while touring with Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab For Cutie.

A song from the upcoming album, "The Nocturnal House," is available for free download at the band's label website.

Keyboardist Leona Marrs makes her recorded debut with Pretty Girls Make Graves on "Elan Vital." She replaced departing member Nathan Thelen in March 2004.
