Ryan Adams cancels remainder of tour

Ryan Adams , who was due to play a string of West Coast shows this month, has scrapped those plans.

The scuttled shows were to take place in Seattle; Portland, OR; Oakland, CA; Los Angeles; and San Diego. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase.

The promoter for Adams' Seattle and Portland shows announced that the cancellations were due to illness. A spokesperson for the artist could not be reached by press time for further details.

Adams and his band were touring behind their May release, "Cold Roses." The two-disc set features the singer/songwriter backed by guitarists J.P. Bowersock and Cindy Cashdollar, drummer Brad Pemberton and bassist Catherine Popper; the group is collectively billed as The Cardinals.

"Cold Roses" is the first of three albums that Adams plans to deliver this year. The second, titled "September," will reportedly hit stores on Sept. 27; no release date has been announced for the third set, dubbed "29."
