Stagecoach fest nabs George Strait, Kenny Chesney, others
George Strait and Kenny Chesney highlight a long list of performers recently confirmed for the May 5-6 Stagecoach music festival in Indio, CA.
The two-day event, set to take place at the Empire Polo Field, which also plays host to the annual Coachella Valley music festival, will also feature Brooks & Dunn , Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, Sugarland , Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Pat Green, Lucinda Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Nickel Creek, Raul Malo and Ricky Skaggs, among others.
Acts will play simultaneously on four different stages spread throughout the venue. Aside from the event's main stage, performing locations include an alt-country stage, a bluegrass stage and a "storytelling area," the latter of which will feature appearances by "Prairie Home Companion" creator Garrison Keillor and Texas poet laureate Red Steagall, according to a press release.
The event will also feature art displays for viewing and purchase, as well as a number of hands-on seminars relating to the event's Wild West theme, including saddle-making and blacksmithing.
Tickets for the festival are scheduled to go on sale Jan. 20.
