The Ataris add 'Welcome' shows to tour
Pop-punkers The Ataris have tacked several new dates onto the end of their upcoming headlining tour to support the release of their latest album, "Welcome the Night."
The seven-member Southern California group (originally from Indiana, the band now calls Santa Barbara home) will kick off its trek Feb. 20 in Philadelphia. The group has now lined up about 20 shows running through mid-March.
"Welcome the Night," which hits stores the same day the band launches its tour, is The Ataris' sixth studio effort, emerging after a four-year gap since the band's last album, "So Long, Astoria." The group announced last year on its MySpace site.
