Trisha Yearwood rolls out summer dates
Country music songstress Trisha Yearwood is returning to the road this summer, and so far has a handful of dates scheduled across the US.
Yearwood will kick things off July 13 in Hampton, NH, and hit cities in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Wyoming that month. Her itinerary currently shows no dates in August, but she'll pick up again in September for gigs in California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. Details are listed below.
Yearwood continues to support her 2005 set, "Jasper County," which marked her return to the music biz after a four-year hiatus. The Grammy-winning star decided to take a break after 12 years of non-stop touring, 10 records and 20 Top 10 hits, according to her bio. Actually, she had only planned to take a year off, but "a year goes by really quickly, even if you're not doing anything," the singer said in a statement. Plus, "Jasper County," which reunited Yearwood with her original producer, Garth Fundis, turned out to be a two-year project.
Shortly after the album's release, Yearwood exchanged vows with her high-profile hubby, Garth Brooks. Then, in Feb. 2006, "Jasper County" was re-issued with an additional track, the Yearwood/Brooks duet "Love Will Always Win," which earned a Grammy nomination.
Yearwood, who burst onto country radio in 1991 with "She's in Love With the Boy," is a three-time Grammy winner, a past Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year and a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She is also an actress, having appeared on the CBS-TV series JAG.
Next month, the singer will be featured with Vince Gill on the cover of Ladies' Home Journal.
