Wilco's Jeff Tweedy to fly solo again
Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy is set to return to concert venues in late January for another set of appearances, the second time in the last three months that the busy singer/guitarist has taken his solo act on the road.
Tweedy will kick off his short outing with a Jan. 31 show in Vancouver, British Columbia, and then move gradually down the West Coast, eventually reaching Southern California for a pair of mid-February shows.
Tweedy will be joined by Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche for all his upcoming dates except for the Feb. 8 show in San Francisco, where Wilco guitarist Nels Cline will join his bandmate on stage.
"A Ghost is Born," Wilco's latest studio album, hit stores in June of 2004. The band co-produced the set with Jim O'Rourke, who engineered the group's previous release, 2002's gold-certified "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot."
Wilco's first live album, "Kicking Television--Live in Chicago," was released Nov. 1. The two-CD set was recorded over four nights in May at the Vic Theatre.
