Hardcore punk-rockers AFI [ tickets ] will mount a five-week fall run behind their forthcoming album, "Crash Love."

After finishing the group's in-progress European leg, AFI will take a month-long break before beginning the fall trek with an Oct. 2 performance in Minneapolis. The 16-city club and theater outing, which concentrates on the eastern half of the US, ends with a Nov. 7 concert in Chicago. Details are included below.

English punk band Gallows will provide opening support through the Oct. 19 performance in Richmond, VA.

AFI will follow its chart-topping 2006 release, "Decemberunderground," with "Crash Love," the group's eighth studio set, which is due in stores Sept. 29. The lead single, "Medicate," will be available for digital download Tuesday (8/25), the same day it's scheduled to hit airwaves.

Fans who pre-order "Crash Love" on iTunes will receive a previously unreleased demo entitled "Breathing Towers to Heaven" as a bonus track.

The California-based quartet teamed up with producers Joe McGrath and Jacknife Lee late last year after spending several months writing the new record's 12 tracks.

"We had the material so completely formed by the time we began recording that we were able to do things more on the fly this time, to concentrate on sounds as well as performance, to contribute anything that worked, that made a sound that was interesting," guitarist Jade Puget explained on the band's website.
