Against Me! recording with Butch Vig

Florida-based Against Me! has returned to Los Angeles to record the follow-up to 2007's "New Wave" with renowned producer Butch Vig, according to a press release.

Vig, who is best known for his work with Green Day, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, produced the critically acclaimed "New Wave," which landed on several "best album" lists the year it was released.

In a statement, the band said the decision to work with Vig again was a no-brainer, especially in light of his great track record. Frontman Tom Gabel said Vig really "gets" the band and brings tons of great ideas to the table.

Against Me!'s new album is slated for a 2010 release.
