R&B singer Anthony Hamilton [ tickets ] has lined up a late-year tour behind his forthcoming studio album, "The Point of It All," which drops in December.

The six-time Grammy-nominated performer--who made a cameo appearance last year in director Ridley Scott's "American Gangster" as, appropriately enough, a soul singer--kicks off the run Nov. 5 in Chicago. The 25-city trek unfolds over five weeks, winding down in mid-December. Details are below.

Due in stores Dec. 2, "The Point of it All" is Hamilton's sixth studio release. The singer co-wrote and co-produced the set with longtime collaborators Mark Batson (Seal, Beyonce) and Kelvin Wooten.

The album's lead single, "Cool," featuring a guest vocal from David Banner, can be heard streaming at Hamilton's website.

"I want fans to hear my growth," the singer said of "The Point of it All" in his online bio. "But I also want to open up the ears of those who don't know about Anthony Hamilton. I don't always want to be known as the sad cat. I want to have a good time, too."

Hamilton's previous studio album, "Ain't Nobody Worryin'," was released last December.
