Aretha Franklin pulls out of San Antonio show

Aretha Franklin has cancelled her June 16 performance in San Antonio, TX, and ticketholders can request a refund at the point of purchase.

No reason was given for the cancellation.

"All of our artists are human and from time to time this is unavoidable," said John Tooley, President and Executive Director of ARTS San Antonio. "We hope to find an opportunity in the future to invite Aretha Franklin back to San Antonio."

The Queen of Soul cancelled an appearance at Brown University last month due to a family emergency. Franklin was scheduled to receive an honorary doctorate of music from the Ivy League school.
