Army of Anyone fortifies tour schedule

The itinerary for Army of Anyone 's inaugural tour has more than doubled in size thanks to a new batch of December shows that are part of the group's support for its forthcoming debut album.

Eight December dates now grace the band's schedule, which already comprised seven November shows that kick off Nov. 18 in Philadelphia. Details are included below.

Additional dates are expected, as a tour announcement from the group's publicist promises "shows through the end of the year" and a "full-scale tour" in 2007.

Army of Anyone features former Filter frontman Richard Patrick, former Stone Temple Pilots members and brothers Robert (bass) and Dean (guitar) DeLeo, and former David Lee Roth Band drummer Ray Luzier. The group sprouted from writing sessions between Patrick and the DeLeos for material Patrick originally planned to use on a new Filter album.

The quartet has spent the past several weeks playing abbreviated, semi-acoustic sets at radio stations throughout the country.

"We can not wait to get out there and play these songs in front of a live audience," Patrick said in a statement. "We've had a great time doing live on-air radio performances. But to be out there in front of a live crowd, that's what we've all been waiting for."

Four days before hitting the road, Army of Anyone offers up its self-titled debut, which the group recorded with veteran rock producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Pink Floyd). The album's lead-off single, "Goodbye," is streaming at AOA's official website.
