AthFest lineup announced

The Black Lips and Randall Bramblett Band are among the acts set to perform at this year's AthFest, scheduled to run June 25-28 in downtown Athens, GA. More than 175 band and artists will perform over the course of the festival, which will feature two outdoor stages as well as a "club crawl" that takes place on the Friday and Saturday nights of the fest, according to a press release.

The 12th annual event--which showcases local, regional and national Athens-based talent--also will feature Patterson Hood & the Screwtopians, Dead Confederate, Bloodkin and Dreams So Real among others.

AthFest 2009 is currently accepting submissions from artists/bands interested in performing, as well as from artists for the juried artisan market. Additional information is available at the festival website.

AthFest, which is billed as a family-friendly festival, also will feature the previously-mentioned art market and a KIDSFest area. The event has been included in the "Top 20 Events for June" by the Southeast Tourism Society for the years 2005-'09.
